Communities eligible for complete assistance through OSLAD program

WAUKEGAN – State Senator Adriane Johnson is encouraging communities with economic challenges in the 30th District to apply for assistance through the Open Space Land Acquisition and Development program. The program, which usually requires matching funds for projects, now offers complete assistance for distressed communities.
“Now is the time we utilize funding to rebuild local parks in our communities and provide our children and neighbors with safe and new attractions,” said Johnson (D-Buffalo Grove). “I am encouraging our park districts to take advantage of the opportunity by applying for this grant.”
In the district Johnson represents, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources highlighted North Chicago and Waukegan as economically disadvantaged communities.
Sen. Johnson to host property tax rebate informational event

WAUKEGAN – To discuss the property tax rebate program included in Illinois’ Family Relief Plan, State Senator Adriane Johnson is partnering with Rep. Rita Mayfield, North Chicago Treasurer Vance Wyatt and North Chicago Alderman Carl Evans to host an event for homeowners to receive information on the payment.
“Building upon the responsible spending decisions and balanced budgets over recent years, the state was able to pay off debt, see our credit rating improve and come out with a sizable surplus,” said Johnson (D-Buffalo Grove). “To celebrate these achievements, I supported the Illinois Family Relief Plan to reduce financial burdens and invite residents to attend our informational event on the property tax rebate portion.”
The event will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3 at North Chicago City Hall, located at 1850 Lewis Ave.
Local Infrastructure projects coming this year thanks to Johnson support

WAUKEGAN – Building upon the smart infrastructure investments supported by Senator Adriane Johnson, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced an investment of nearly $8 million in road and bridge improvement projects.
“For too long, our infrastructure has suffered from historic underinvestment, threatening the safety and security of our community,” said Johnson (D-Buffalo Grove). “These funds will go toward revitalizing our roads, creating jobs and boosting growth in the area.”
As part of IDOT’s latest Multi-Year Plan under Rebuild Illinois, the district Johnson represents will see 20 infrastructure projects totaling more than $62 million over the next six years.
Johnson to host Coffee & Connect in Wheeling

WAUKEGAN – To hear from constituents and connect residents with resources, State Senator Adriane Johnson will host a community event at Eggsperience in Wheeling.
The event is scheduled to take place at 10-11:30 a.m., Saturday Aug. 20 at 419 W. Dundee Rd. in Wheeling.
