WAUKEGAN - This holiday season, in order to create a more peaceful and cohesive environment, State Senator Adriane Johnson will be hosting a Peace Dinner to discuss concerns of violence and mental health in the community.
“The correlation between mental health and violence can be detrimental to the community if not addressed,” said Johnson (D-Buffalo Grove). “This is why I am hosting a Peace Dinner to raise awareness and ignite conversations that will impart change and healing throughout our community.”
The peace dinner will take place at 5:30-7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Patricia Jones Center, 414 S. Lewis Ave. Waukegan, IL.
The Peace Dinner will focus on the intersectionality of mental health and violence in our community. Dinner and mental health resources will be provided.
“Your mental health is vital, and I am dedicated to giving our community what we deserve in my continued efforts to put an end to the threats of violence,” said Johnson. “I openly invite you to join the Peace Dinner, I look forward to seeing you there! “
